What it costs,
before you have to ask.
This page explains what working with me costs, how I arrive at a price, and what you’d pay other companies directly.
$150
An hour. Every price on this page is built from it.
How pricing works
You usually won’t see the hourly rate on an invoice. Projects get a fixed price, agreed before I start, which I estimate from the hours I expect the work to take. If my estimate turns out low, that’s on me.
If you ask for something outside the agreed scope, I’ll tell you before I do it and quote it at the same rate. Nothing gets added to a bill without your say-so.
Two ways to start
Both are fixed prices, and both count toward whatever comes next.
-
Working session
$300
We talk through how your business runs and where the time goes. Afterward I send a short written summary of what’s most worth doing, with rough costs. For some businesses that’s all they need.
Counts toward discovery if you book it within 30 days.
-
Discovery
$1,500
I spend a day inside your business, watching how work actually moves, then write up a prioritized plan: what’s worth doing, what isn’t, and a first project scoped and priced. The plan is yours whether or not we continue.
Credited toward your first project or your first month of a retainer.
Projects
A project takes one item from the plan and builds it to an agreed scope, for a fixed price. When it’s done, you own it: the code, the accounts it runs on, and the data.
-
Automations
Connecting the tools you already use so routine work happens on its own, often with an AI step and a person approving anything that matters.
-
Websites and custom tools
Internal tools, client portals, integrations, and websites built so updates stay quick and inexpensive.
Running now
A salesperson gives Claude, an AI model, her new leads each morning, and it drafts her first reply to each in her voice. Thirteen replies that took her two hours now take 30 minutes.
Retainers
A retainer reserves a set number of my hours each month for whatever matters most: building, maintaining, advising, or sorting out the question your vendor can’t answer. We set the priorities together each month.
-
16 hours a month
$2,400 a month
- About 4 hours a week
- Up to 3 unused hours carry over
-
40 hours a month
$6,000 a month
- About 10 hours a week
- Up to 8 unused hours carry over
- Unused hours carry into the next month, up to about a fifth of your monthly hours. Carried hours don’t carry again.
- A retainer starts with a three-month commitment. After that it renews month to month.
- You can end it with 30 days’ notice in writing. An email is fine.
Maintenance
Once a website or tool is built, maintenance covers keeping the software up to date, fixing problems, and small changes, up to two hours of my time a month. Anything bigger is quoted as a project.
Costs you pay directly
Some costs go to other companies, not to me. You pay them on your own accounts, so you always see them and keep everything if we stop working together:
- AI services, such as a ChatGPT or Claude subscription, or the usage fees when software calls an AI model.
- Subscriptions for the software an automation connects to or runs on.
- Hosting and domain names for websites and custom tools.
Before you commit to a project, I’ll tell you what these should cost each month.
Paying
- Working session and discovery
- When you book
- Retainers and maintenance
- At the start of each month
- Projects up to $1,500
- Before work starts
- Larger projects
- Half before work starts, half on delivery
If my prices change, the date below changes with it. A price I’ve already quoted you doesn’t change.
Questions about a price? Ask me.
Tell me what you’re working on, and I’ll tell you which option fits and roughly what it would cost. A few sentences is plenty. I read and reply to every message myself.
